University of Kassel reports its 2021 APC expenditures

The University of Kassel has updated its APC expenditures, providing data for the 2021 period.

Kassel University Library is in charge of the institution’s Open Access Publication Funds, which received support by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) under its Open-Access Publishing Programme until 2019.

In addition, Kassel University Library has also reported data on articles published under the DEAL agreements with Wiley and Springer in 2020.

Cost data

The new data set covers publication fees for 96 articles, total expenditure amounts to 155 093€ and the average fee is 1 616€.

The following table shows the payments Kassel University Library has made to publishers since its last contribution. Please note that articles published in hybrid journals under the DEAL agreements are not included in this list, as they are aggregated in OpenAPC’s transformative agreements data set.

IFW joins OpenAPC

We welcome the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW) as new contributing institution!

New articles ingested from OpenAPC Sweden

Our partner project OpenAPC Sweden collects APC data from institutions in Sweden.

Having agreed on a biannual ingestion interval, articles added to openapc-se since our last exchange have now been added to OpenAPC as well.

Cost data

The ingested data covers publication fees for 11,762 articles published by Swedish institutions (This includes articles already imported before). Total expenditure amounts to 21,439,400€ and the average fee is 1,823€.

Note that OpenAPC did neither include articles already present in its transformative agreements collection nor articles with a cost of 0€, so the net intake is lower than what might be expected.
