We welcome the CSC – IT Center for Science as new contributing institution!
The CSC is a non-profit government enterprise which provides IT support and services to Finnish academia and research institutes. It operates VIRTA, a centralized service tasked with collecting publication data from HEIs. VIRTA may also optionally collect cost data on OA publishing (APCs and BPCs), this data has now been made available to OpenAPC where permission was granted by the data providers.

Cost data
The initial data set provided by the CSC covers publication fees for 183 articles published between 2018 and 2021 by 9 different institutions, total expenditure amounts to 285,103€ and the average fee is 1,558€. The CSC also provided BPC data for 7 OA monographs (not shown here).

The Couperin consortium collects data on APC expenditures from universities and other research institutions in France.
APC expenditures for 3 different institutions have now been made available to OpenAPC, with 2 of them reporting for the first time.

Cost data
The new data set provided by Couperin covers publication fees for 473 articles published between 2017 and 2020. Total expenditure amounts to 979,014€ and the average fee is 2,070€.

The University of Turku has updated its APC expenditures, the latest contribution provides cost data on APCs paid between September and December 2020.
The data has been collected by Turku University Library, contact person is Anna-Kaarina Linna.
