University of Tuebingen reports its 2017 APC expenditures

The Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen has updated its APC expenditures, the latest contribution provides data for the 2017 period.

Tübingen University Library is in charge of the University’s Open Access Publishing Fund, which is supported under the DFG’s Open Access Publishing Programme.

The new dataset covers publication fees for 195 articles. Total expenditure amounts to 300 042€ and the average fee is 1 539€.

In 2014 the Wellcome Trust started to make APC expenditures of the COAF publicly available. The most recent data set has now been processed and added to OpenAPC’s data collection.

About the dataset

The dataset contributed by the Wellcome Trust contains information on publication fees covering a time span from October 2016 to September 2017 (OpenAPC treats this data as having all been processed in the 2017 period).

Cost Data

The new dataset covers publication fees for 1,170 articles. Total expenditure amounts to 2 715 312€ and the average fee is 2 321€.

Jisc collections data for 2017 ingested

Jisc Collections has been gathering and releasing data on APC payments made by UK higher education institutions (HEIs).

Aggregated data for the last year has been made available recently and is now included into OpenAPC.

Since the data format employed by Jisc differs from the OpenAPC standard in several ways, a comprehensive pre- and postprocessing had to be conducted. The README in the Jisc data folder provides more details.

New ingestion

The ingested data covers publication fees for 13,306 articles published by UK institutions. Total expenditure amounts to 30 942 629€ and the average fee is 2 325€.
