Max Planck Digital Library reports 2016 expenditures for Latest Thinking and Wiley journals

The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) has reported its 2016 expenditures for Latest Thinking and Wiley journals.

MPDL provides institutional funding for Open Access publications for researchers affiliated with the Max Planck Society. MPDL makes use of central agreements with Open Access publishers.

Please note that article processing charges funded locally by Max Planck Institutes are not part of this data set. The Max Planck Society has a limited input tax reduction. The refund of input VAT for APC is 20%.

Cost data

The new dataset covers publication fees for 51 articles published by MPG researchers in the aforementioned journals. Total expenditure amounts to 136 899€ and the average fee is 2 684€.

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg reports its 2016 APC expenditures

The Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) has updated its APC expenditures, the latest contribution provides data for the 2016 period.

The University Library of Erlangen-Nürnberg is in charge of the University’s Open Access Publishing Fund, which is supported under the DFG’s Open Access Publishing Programme.

The new dataset covers publication fees for 137 articles. Total expenditure amounts to 205 471€ and the average fee is 1 500€.

Data from Open APC Sweden included

In May 2016 the National Library of Sweden started their own OpenAPC project to collect cost data from Swedish HEIs. This data has now also been integrated into the original OpenAPC collection.

Cost data

The ingested data covers publication fees for 1,550 articles published by Swedish institutions. Total expenditure amounts to 2 627 985€ and the average fee is 1 695€.

Note that OpenAPC did neither include articles already present in its offsetting data collection nor articles with a cost of 0€, so the net intake is lower than what might be expected.
