Max Planck Digital Library updates its 2016 expenditures

The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) has updated its APC expenditures for MDPI journals in 2016.

MPDL provides institutional funding for Open Access publications for researchers affiliated with the Max Planck Society. MPDL makes use of central agreements with Open Access publishers.

Please note that article processing charges funded locally by Max Planck Institutes are not part of this data set. The Max Planck Society has a limited input tax reduction. The refund of input VAT for APC is 20%.

Cost data

The new data covers additional publication fees for 7 articles published in MDPI journals which the MPDL covered in 2016. Total expenditure amounts to 6 990€ and the average fee is 999€.

Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education joins OpenAPC

We welcome the IPN (Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education) as new contributing institution! The IPN Library manages the Institute’s Open Access publication fund which pays APCs for articles published by IPN scientists.

About the dataset

The initial dataset contributed by the IPN contains information on publication fees paid in 2016 and 2017.

Cost Data

The data covers publication fees for 26 articles. Total expenditure amounts to 57 512€ and the average fee is 2 212€.

Max Planck Digital Library updates its 2016 expenditures

The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) has updated its APC expenditures for the New Journal of Physics in the second half of 2016.

MPDL provides institutional funding for Open Access publications for researchers affiliated with the Max Planck Society. MPDL makes use of central agreements with Open Access publishers.

Please note that article processing charges funded locally by Max Planck Institutes are not part of this data set. The Max Planck Society has a limited input tax reduction. The refund of input VAT for APC is 20%.

Cost data

The new data covers additional publication fees for 29 NJP articles published by MPG researchers, which MPDL covered in 2016. Together with the previous APC data MPDL’s total expenditure for the NJP in 2016 amounts to 74 784€ and the average fee is 1 289€.
