Max Planck Digital Library updates expenditures for articles published in Copernicus journals

Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) provides institutional funding for Open Access publications for researchers affiliated with the Max Planck Society. MPDL makes use of central agreements with Open Access publishers. It has now updated expenditures for Open Access articles in Copernicus journals.

Please note that article processing charges funded locally by Max Planck Institutes are not part of this data set. The Max Planck Society has a limited input tax reduction. The refund of input VAT for APC is 20%.

Cost data

The data set covers publication fees for 464 articles published in Copernicus journals by MPG researchers, which MPDL covered from 2008 until 2014. Total expenditure amounts to 709 340€ and the average fee is 1 529€.

The following table shows the distribution over Copernicus journal titles.

TU Chemnitz releases its 2015 expenditure

Technische Universität Chemnitz has contributed its cost information for 2015. Chemnitz University Library is in charge of the University’s Open Access Publishing Fund, which is supported under the DFG’s Open Access Publishing Programme.
