University of Milan reports its 2023 APC expenditures

The University of Milan has reported its APC expenditures for the first half of 2023 as well as some remaining articles for 2021 and 2022.

CSC updates collected APC data for several Finnish institutions

The CSC – IT Center for Science has updated its data, providing more APC data for Finnish HEIs.

The CSC is a non-profit government enterprise which provides IT support and services to Finnish academia and research institutes. It operates VIRTA, a centralized service tasked with collecting publication data from HEIs. VIRTA may also optionally collect cost data on OA publishing (APCs and BPCs), this data is made available to OpenAPC where permission was granted by the data providers.

Cost data

The updated data set provided by the CSC covers publication fees for 1,989 articles published between 2017 and 2023, replacing the previous CSC data. Total expenditure amounts to 3,472,720€ and the average fee is 1,746€.

TU Darmstadt reports its 2022 expenditures

The Technische Universität Darmstadt has updated its expenditures, providing data on APCs and on articles published under the German DEAL agreements with Wiley and Springer Nature for the 2022 period.

The University and State Library Darmstadt (ULB) is in charge of the University’s Open Access Publishing Fund, which is receiving support by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) under its Open Access Publication Funding Programme.

The new data set covers publication fees for 130 articles. Total expenditure amounts to 216 692€ and the average fee is 1 667€. Please note that articles published in hybrid journals under the DEAL agreements are not included in this list, as they are aggregated in OpenAPC’s transformative agreements data set.
