The Couperin consortium collects data on APC expenditures from universities and other research institutions in France.
APC expenditures for INRAE (Institut national de recherche pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et l’environnement) in 2021 have now been made available to OpenAPC.

The new data set covers publication fees for 498 articles published in 2021. Total expenditure amounts to 923 699€ and the average fee is 1 855€.

The CSC – IT Center for Science has updated its data, providing more APC data for Finnish HEIs.
The CSC is a non-profit government enterprise which provides IT support and services to Finnish academia and research institutes. It operates VIRTA, a centralized service tasked with collecting publication data from HEIs. VIRTA may also optionally collect cost data on OA publishing (APCs and BPCs), this data is made available to OpenAPC where permission was granted by the data providers.

Cost data
The updated data set provided by the CSC covers publication fees for 1,776 articles published between 2017 and 2023, replacing the previous CSC data. Total expenditure amounts to 3,050,588€ and the average fee is 1,718€.
