The Couperin consortium collects data on APC expenditures from universities and other research institutions in France.
APC expenditures for 21 different institutions have now been made available to OpenAPC, with two institutions being included for the first time.

Cost data
The new data set provided by Couperin covers publication fees for 1,266 articles. Total expenditure amounts to 2,602,305€ and the average fee is 2,056€.

New APC data has been harvested from the institutional repository of Saarland University.
The Saarland University and State Library (SULB) decided to make data on APC expenditures directly available in their institutional repository, where it can be harvested by OpenAPC on a regular basis via OAI-PMH.
The SULB is also in charge of the central publication fund at Saarland University, which receives support by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) under its Open-Access Publishing Programme.

The CSC – IT Center for Science has updated its data, providing more APC data for Finnish HEIs.
The CSC is a non-profit government enterprise which provides IT support and services to Finnish academia and research institutes. It operates VIRTA, a centralized service tasked with collecting publication data from HEIs. VIRTA may also optionally collect cost data on OA publishing (APCs and BPCs), this data is made available to OpenAPC where permission was granted by the data providers.

Cost data
The updated data set provided by the CSC covers publication fees for 1,246 articles published between 2018 and 2022, replacing the previous CSC data. Total expenditure amounts to 2,054,507€ and the average fee is 1,649€.
