New APC data harvested from DESY using the OpenCost format
25 Sep 2024New APC data has been harvested from the institutional repository of Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY. As part of the JOIN² network the DESY library integrates data on publication costs into their repository, where OpenAPC can harvest the records via the OAI-PMH protocol.
DESY now provides its cost data in the recently developed OpenCost metadata format, which allows OpenAPC to gather data not only on APCs, but also on additional costs like page charges or submission fees.

The new data covers publication fees for 468 articles, total expenditure amounts to 1,014,821€ and the average fee is 2,168€.
